The American entrepreneur Rules Out Spurs Takeover Bid After Approach
The former chairman directed Tottenham's transition to the club's new home in 2019.
American tech entrepreneur Earick has dismissed making a formal takeover bid for the North London club.
Tottenham had previously âfirmly declinedâ an unofficial approach from a investment group led by Earick last month and stated the organization was unavailable for purchase.
Yet the nation's corporate governance laws dictated that, following an expression of interest declined, Earick's consortium needed to make an offer by 24 October or state they would not proceed.
Official word of the determination was issued in a announcement made by the club to the London Stock Exchange, stating the organization is ânot in an acquisition window.â
The entrepreneur shared an picture of the statement on online platforms, remarking: âI've had a honor interacting with Tottenham Hotspur and the Lewis family's representatives over the past few weeks.
âI hold deep admiration for the team, its executives, and its followers, and wish them continued achievements.â
Spurs' leadership acknowledged the group for its âconstructive approachâ in discussions and for âhonoring the firm stanceâ of the shareholders that the organization is off the market.
Earick is a one-time music presenter who also worked in spacecraft research for the space agency before establishing Redacted RnD, which concentrates on technology, entertainment, sport and recreation.
Earick's proposal was the third approach declined by the team's directors since the sudden departure of long-serving chairman Levy in the fall.
Earlier in September, the club rejected proposals from ex-Newcastle investor the financier's PCP International and a group led by Dr Roger Kennedy and Ng through Firehawk Holdings Limited.
The former chairman and his relatives control about 30% of the parent company â which has an nearly 87 percent stake in the club.
The executive was the Premier League's most enduring chair and is estimated to have made more than ÂŁ50m during his nearly 25 years in the role.
However he was also the target of regular protests by Spurs fans, particularly last season as home competition outcomes were unsatisfactory.
Tottenham won their major honor in 17 years when they overcame Manchester United in May's Europa League final.
