Ex- NFL Athlete Antonio Brown Files Not Guilty Response in Attempted Murder Charges

Ex- NFL star Antonio Brown is returning to Miami to confront an attempted murder accusation related to a incident that happened in May, as his lawyer entering a not guilty plea on his behalf.

Correctional records in Essex County, New Jersey, reveal that Brown was released on Tuesday morning for his relocation to the state of Florida. Brown, one of the most popular players in the NFL, had relinquished transfer to Florida from New Jersey, in which he was held after being apprehended in Dubai.

Brown’s lawyer, Mark Eiglarsh, said in an email that he has previously lodged a formal innocent declaration to the murder attempt accusation. Brown could be in a Miami hearing as early as Wednesday morning for a bail session, Eiglarsh stated.

According to his apprehension document, Brown is accused of grabbing a handgun from a protection staffer after a star match event in May and shooting multiple shots at a person he had confronted with previously. The reported individual, Zul-Qarnain Kwame Nantambu, stated to investigators that one of the bullets scraped his neck.

Eiglarsh stated that Brown was merely defending himself from Nantambu.

“The measures he was forced to take were purely in self-defense against the reported victim’s aggressive conduct. Brown was assaulted that evening and behaved within his lawful privilege to defend himself,” Eiglarsh commented.

Brown was not immediately detained because at first officers did not recognize Nantambu as a target. It only subsequently in May that Nantambu delivered a detailed statement about the event to police and pointed out Brown as the gunman, the affidavit says.
